I am not staying at the campground, but have the Mickey BBQ booked for one evening. Are we allowed to go and spend the afternoon there before the BBQ and do things like swim and horseback?

    Hello, Yvonne!

You are sure to have a rootin'-tootin' hoedown of a time at Mickey's Backyard BBQ, and spending some time exploring Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground before your reservation is a great idea!

Unfortunately, use of swimming areas are reserved for registered guests of Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground, but your options abound with fun things to do while you explore this wild and rustic area of Walt Disney World Resort. For example, you can visit the stables of Tri-Circle-D Ranch, or make a reservation to enjoy many of the recreational activities available for a fee; like horseback riding, archery and wagon rides-- just click the highlighted link above to be routed to your many options.

I hope this information is helpful as you plan a fun day before a great dinner, Yvonne! Please do not hesitate to contact the Disney Parks Moms Panel for any additional questions you may have. The Moms are here to help.

    Have a foot-stompin', thigh-slappin' time!
