If I do not stay at a Disney Resort, is there anything I need to know about parking?

Hello, Jennifer! I love seeing a fellow North Carolinian here at planDisney. I noticed that your vacation is only a few short months away. I am sure you are getting so excited. My family and I love visiting Walt Disney World in March, it's a great time to go!

Also being from North Carolina, I typically drive each time I head down to Walt Disney World. It's a pretty easy drive and only takes about 8 hours. With that, even when I do stay at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, I typically drive myself to the Walt Disney World theme parks each day. I love having the flexibility of my own transportation.

Parking at each of the Walt Disney World theme parks is a breeze. Each day when you arrive, you'll pull up to one of the parking booths.  Since you aren't staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, you will be required to pay a daily fee. The current rate is $25 for standard parking or $45-$50 for preferred parking. If you have an oversize vehicle like a limo, camper trailer, rv or bus you'll be charged $30 a day. With that payment, you'll receive a receipt that will be valid for the rest of the day. If you choose to leave and come back or visit any other Walt Disney World Theme Parks, you won't have to pay again. If you have an electric vehicle, each of the Walt Disney World theme parks also has a few ChargePoint designated spots for you to be able to plug your car in. These spots are on a first-come, first-serve basis. The parking lot for each of the Walt Disney World theme parks typically opens about 1 hour prior to park opening. To keep up with physical distancing and keep all Guests safe, the tram is currently unavailable. For now, Guests must walk from their car to the entrance of the park. No worries though, it's not that far of a walk and if you get there early in the morning, it's even shorter.

I hope this helps fill you in on the parking situation for your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation. If you have any other questions before your trip, please feel free to come back and ask!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
