Hi I have not been to a special event since before the new changes at the park. Do you still have to purchase a regular park ticket as well as the special event ticket? We were thinking about planning a trip for BOO Bash.

Greetings Renee, and welcome to planDisney!

I sense that you are starting to plan a spook-tacular vacation to the Walt Disney World Resort this fall. You will have a fiendishly good time because the 50th Anniversary Celebration will be in full swing. You will also have the chance to sample some ghoulish delights during the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival.

You will be in for a fright if you are planning to attend Disney After Hours BOO BASH! The dates for this year’s event have not been announced yet, so keep your EARs tuned in to the Disney Parks Blog for more information about the 2022 event dates. Disney After Hours BOO BASH is just that, it is an after-hours event, held exclusively for Guests who purchase the special tickets. Any Guest that holds a ticket to this specially-ticketed event will be admitted into the Magic Kingdom usually a few hours before the howling good times begin. A regular Theme Park Ticket and Disney Park Pass reservations are not needed for your pre-party enjoyment.

During the spooky season, I prefer to enjoy a non-park day when I have tickets for an after-hours event. I like to enjoy a leisurely day at the pool or shopping at Disney Springs before making my final preparations to join the hauntingly good time. Don’t forget, adults can wear costumes to the party as long as they follow the Costume Policy guidelines.

I hope this helps with your planning. Remember, the Happy Haunts will be waiting for you!
