Hi there, Karen, from a fellow Ohioan! It sounds like you have a magical Disney vacation coming up in just a few short months — how exciting!
Things will look a little different than the last time you visited, perhaps, but Walt Disney World Resort is working hard to ensure that each trip captures that Disney magic we all know and love. I
recently advised another guest regarding enjoying a trip without having a mobile device with you, and was able to learn that many people visit the Most Magical Place on Earth unplugged from their devices! You will be in good company.
I spoke with Guest Services regarding your questions. So far, the only ride that utilizes a virtual queue is
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. This is the only experience that may be a little difficult to accomplish without a device. However, the Guest Services Cast Member I spoke with recommended that you approach Guest Services at
Disney’s Hollywood Studios upon your arrival at the Park in order to inquire about any assistance they may be able to provide in joining the queues, though there are no guarantees that this will be possible.
Regarding advance planning, it will be a good idea for you to become as familiar as possible with your
My Disney Experience account, and you’ll want to go ahead and log in to make a
Park Pass Reservation for each day of your vacation if you have not done so already. From there, you will be able to make Advance Dining Reservations 60 days prior to your vacation. You can also add other experiences to your plans, and print out a hard copy to take along with you when you go! Alternatively, this can be accomplished by calling (407) 939-5277 to speak with Disney travel planner. Once you have an itinerary, you can even laminate it, as I have seen people do in the past, so a rain shower or awesome water-based attraction won’t slow you down at all.
Regarding dining, I was informed that all Dining locations will offer in-person ordering as well as mobile ordering via the
My Disney Experience Mobile App. I would certainly recommend that you wear
MagicBands that are linked to a method of payment, so you can make contactless purchases on the go, even at shopping locations.
Karen, I hope this information is helpful to you as you continue to make magical plans. I wish you a wonderful vacation full of all the magic and wonder that Walt Disney World has to offer. If we can be of any more help in the future, please come back to see us again!
See ya real soon!
