Happy Halloween, Carrie!
I'm always happy to answer questions about the most SPOOKTACULAR time of year at Walt Disney World Resort - Halloween!
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party has long been a must-BOO for my family - some years we've even been twice! The spellbinding celebration is by far my favorite special event at Walt Disney World Resort.
So far, there is no news from the great beyond regarding Halloween Party dates for 2021. I'm really hoping there WILL be a swinging wake, and that all 999 Happy Haunts will be in attendance. Maybe we can get Madame Leota to look deep into her crystal ball and we will soon have an answer! In the meantime, I'll be keeping an eye on the ghostly posts on the
Disney Parks Blog, as they seem to be most in tune with the spirits and the most up-to-date information.
Even with Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party on pause this past year, my friends and I still had the
most amazing time when we visited in October. It was our goal to taste ALL of the Halloween-themed treats in the theme parks, resort hotels, and Disney Springs, and I'm pretty sure we came close to sampling them all! My favorite was the Frozen Apple Cider with a Poisoned Apple Glow Cube at
PizzeRizzo and
Backlot Express in
Disney's Hollywood Studios. I think I had three in one day - apple cider overload!
While there wasn't an "official" Halloween Party at
Magic Kingdom Park, we were still able to see our favorite Disney Characters and Disney Villains in Character Cavalcades throughout the day - "mini-parades", like little snippets from the Boo-to-You Parade! All of Magic Kingdom was decorated for the holiday, and I was so excited to see Cast Members in their iconic Halloween Party outfits in the park. (Where can I get one of those bat headbands?)
October is an awesome time to visit Walt Disney World Resort, and it's especially exciting this year, as it will be the kickoff month for the 50th Anniversary Celebration.
The World's Most Magical Celebration will begin on October 1, 2021 and last for 18 months! All four theme parks will get in on the action, with celebrations all around. I can't wait!
My fingers are crossed that the Grim Grinning Ghosts will soon materialize and let us know if they'll be coming out to socialize at Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party this year!
Your Ghost Host,
Diane W.
