Welcome to planDisney, Kendra! I am glad you found us and am happy to answer your
Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question!
Magic Kingdom, Disney World’s first theme park in Orlando, is
home to over 60 things to do: attractions, experiences, Character Greetings, and my favorite firework show, Happily Ever After. If you’ve never visited before, some of my favorite/must-ride attractions are Pirates of the Caribbean, Jungle Cruise, TRON Lightcycle / Run, The People Mover, and the highly anticipated Tiana’s Bayou Adventure!
To check what time the Magic Kingdom or any other theme park, water park, Disney Springs, or ESPN Wide World of Sports open each day, you will want to head to the
Hours & Events Calendar. There, you will be able to select the date(s) you are visiting and see what time Early Entry is (for
Disney Resorts Collection hotel Guests), Park Hours, Parades schedule, Fireworks & Nighttime Entertainment hours, and even if anything will be closed for refurbishment. A quick scan of the next couple of weeks shows that the Magic Kingdom typically opens at 8 AM or 9 AM for non-Disney resort hotel Guests, but please double-check as you get closer to your visit for updated times.
Kendra, I would love to share some of my favorite dining spots for your upcoming visit, if you don’t mind. I like to start my mornings at
Gaston’s Tavern with a Warm Cinnamon Roll. For lunch, I like to head to
Sleepy Hollow to enjoy a Sweet-and-Spicy Chicken Waffle Sandwich or
Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Café for tacos and chips. By dinner time, I've likely enjoyed a DOLE Whip and refilled my popcorn bucket a few times, so I skip my meal and head to
Main Street Confectionery to satisfy my sweet tooth.
If you would like any more suggestions on how to go about your day in the park, additional dining recommendations, or information about minimizing your wait times utilizing
Disney Genie+,
submit me a question. I’d be happy to share more Disney knowledge with you so you have a memorable trip!
