If not reservations are required for a specific day at Epcot, how are we gonna make the reservation for guardians of the galaxy ?

Hi there, Marian! Thanks so much for visiting planDisney with your out-of-this-world question! It looks like you are well into the final countdown for your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation, and I'm here to help find you a spot on this journey across the cosmos!

Marian, my oldest daughter got to experience Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind on our most recent Walt Disney World vacation, and as I expected, it's her new favorite attraction! I have to say, it might be my #1 at EPCOT, too. If you haven't experienced it yet, I won't spoil it for you--other than to say that it is SO COOL and to tell you to listen for what music accompanies your voyage!

Guests with standard date-based theme park tickets no longer need park reservations.  This means that you will be able to try for a boarding group in the Virtual Queue for Guardians starting at 7:00 AM on the morning you wish to visit. Here's a few tips to prepare so you are ready to rock and don't miss out on a chance to ride:
    • Make sure you have the most recent version of the My Disney Experience app downloaded.
    • Check that everyone that you want to experience the attraction with is part of your Friends and Family group within the app. Remember that only Guests with valid park admission will be eligible to join the Virtual Queue!
    • Open the app a few minutes before 7:00 AM, scroll down to "Virtual Queue", and confirm that your entire party is selected. There will be two tabs on the screen--one for Magic Kingdom Park and one for EPCOT, so be sure you choose the correct one.
    • I usually start hitting "Refresh" a few minutes before 7 so I don't lose a moment when the Virtual Queue opens. Click "Join Virtual Queue" as soon as the option is available, and then you will see a Boarding Group number if you were successful!
Marian, if you don't get a Boarding Group in the early morning Virtual Queue, don't fret! You can try again at 1:00 PM when more spots will be released. For the afternoon drop, it's important to know that you do need to be in EPCOT to try for the Virtual Queue.

I hope this explains how to navigate the Virtual Queue and that you'll be rocking out on Cosmic Rewind this very week! I think you'll find it's well worth the early wake-up call. Thanks again for visiting planDisney and please don't hesitate to reach out again if we can help with any other questions to make your Disney adventures as magical as can be.

    See Ya Real Soon!
