Hello! We are not purchasing magic bands for our trip. Will we get cards that we can use to enter the parks? How do we get them if we do online checkin for our room? Thank you!

Hey Howdy Hey Delilah and welcome back to planDisney!

I bet you all are getting super excited about your upcoming trip to the Walt Disney World Resort really soon. Thank you for stopping by with your question about access to the parks during your stay. Let's go over your options so you can get back to the fun of planning your trip!

As you mentioned Delilah, MagicBands and MagicBand+ are one way you will be able to access the parks and so much more during your trip, but that is only one of three ways you will have access to the parks and your room. Another way to access your park tickets and open your resort room door is with a Key to Your World Card. With any vacation package, you can opt to have these cards instead of MagicBands. You would, however, have to visit the front desk for the Cast Members to set these up for your party to use throughout your stay.

The other way you can access your park tickets is with Disney MagcMobile Service. This option is free to set up from your My Disney Experience mobile app which you can access through your smartphone or Apple Watch, not yet available with Android smartwatches. Once you log into your app, tap the three horizontal lines on the bottom right of your screen. Next, select the tile "Disney MagicMobile" and follow the prompts to set up this service for you and your family. Adults and those in your party with their accounts and smart devices can set these up themselves to access or you can set them up for your party and access them all from your phone. When you have this setup, you will be able to tap your smartphone on the access points to the parks to utilize your tickets as well as the same process to access Lightning Lane Entrances or Individual Lightning Lane Entrances during your stay. You will also be able to open your resort room through your My Disney Experience app as well. All in one place and super easy to use!

I hope this helps give you the option of navigating the parks and resorts without MagicBands for your upcoming vacation. As you get back to planning your trip, make sure you plan to take some time over at EPCOT. Not only do they have the newly opened Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana walk-through experience but you will also have the opportunity to experience the EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival. This festival is a celebration of warmer weather and a new growing season with experience throughout the park to enjoy. Please feel free to stop back with any other questions you may have, we are always happy to help!

    Have a Magical day,
