If you are not a Polynesian guest, can you watch the "Wishes" fireworks from the beach? I heard if you are not staying there, you are not aloud to be on the beach watching. Could you give me some info because we would like to do this if we can!

    Hi Judy,

    What a great question!

I often recommend for guests to watch the Magic Kingdom's presentation of Wishes from the beach at Disney's Polynesian Resort (even if they're not staying there). Being that it's such a tranquil setting, I think it actually enhances the experience of watching the fireworks. Plus, the music and narration are played through the speakers around the grounds, so you'll be able to get the full experience even though you're not in the Magic Kingdom.

Personally, I've never seen or heard of any guests being denied access to the beach for purposes of watching the fireworks. I've lost count on the number of times I've seen the fireworks from that location, so I feel confident in telling you not to worry about it.

Now, I think the game changes when you're talking about using the beach during daytime hours. (Especially during peak seasons of the year.) I have seen cast members ask to see room keys in order to make sure that guests of the hotel are the ones utilizing the beach (and the pool as well).

Here's a little tip from your buddy Derek:

While most guests tend to gravitate toward the beach area nearest to the volcano pool, there are two other spots that are actually better viewing locations in my opinion. The first is "Sunset Point," the elevated pathway next to the main beach area, and the secondary beach on the other side of Sunset Point (near the ferry that docks at the Transportation and Ticket Center.

I hope that helps! Please feel free to write back if you should have any additional questions and I'll be happy to help in any way that I can.

    Best regards,
    Derek
