Hey there, Mitzi!
Welcome to planDisney’s little corner of the internet! I noticed that you made your visit to
The Happiest Place On Earth earlier this month, but I know that navigating the
theme park reservation guidelines can feel overwhelming at times, so I wanted to make sure to reach out and let you know how canceling reservations works for the future.
Mitzi, if you’re using
theme park tickets, and you are not a
Magic Key holder, you have up until the clock strikes midnight the evening before your visit to cancel your theme park reservations. After that, if you cancel your reservation on the day you were scheduled to visit, or if you never scan your ticket that day, you will not be able to make a new reservation until the following day. However, if you stay one jump ahead of your reservation, you'll be able to make a whole new reservation up to 120 days in advance (as long as your theme park ticket has not expired).
If you
are a Magic Key holder, then it's important to make sure that you don't have more than three uncancelled reservations. After the third missed visit, you would be blocked from making a reservation for 30 days. So although one missed visit doesn't have much of a consequence, it's best to be proactive when it comes to canceling reservations.
If you’ve made a same-day reservation, I would reach out to Disneyland customer service to see if they can assist with the cancellation. I’d explain the situation and ask if they can help avoid any penalties. In some cases, customer service may be able to assist with canceling a reservation or offer alternative solutions.
I hope I answered your question about canceling reservations and that your visit to the Disneyland Resort turned out as magically as you wanted, Mitzi. (Weren't you just absolutely blown away by the
Disney 100 decorations adorning every nook and cranny? I know I was!) If I misunderstood you, or if you still have any follow-up questions, please feel free to
message me back. I’m here to help!
You've got a friend in me,
Danielle
