Welcome to planDisney, Carolyn!
Celebrating a birthday at
Walt Disney World Resort is practically perfect in every way! From the moment you enter The Most Magical Place on Earth, Cast Members love making your day feel extra special (they're in the happiness business, after all). And of course, a birthday celebration isn't complete without cake!
At this time, there aren't any rules against bringing your own birthday cake to a Disney restaurant. Still, it's at the discretion of each
dining location. Upon arriving, you would have to let a Cast Member know that you'd like to end your meal with a cake you've brought with you. I don't anticipate that being a problem. I double checked with a Cast Member, and they confirmed, but also added that you don't want to bring anything in a glass container. You also probably don't want to bring in a 6-tier behemoth that could feed the whole restaurant! If you change your mind and you'd like to explore Disney’s own options, the adorable
Mickey Celebration Cake can be added to many table-service dining reservations. Either way, you’ll be able to enjoy that sweet moment around the table with your loved ones.
Let your server know at the start of your meal that you've brought a cake to celebrate. They'll be happy to help with the timing so you can enjoy the big reveal at just the right moment. And don't forget to pick up a complimentary "Happy Birthday" button from your resort front desk or at Guest Services inside the parks. Birthday Guests often receive cheerful wishes from Cast Members and fellow Guests all day long, which makes the celebration extra special!
Thanks for stopping by Carolyn. Happy planning!
Mike
