Welcome to planDisney, Erin! I'm so glad that I get to answer your question today about one of the newest and most exciting attractions at Walt Disney World Resort,
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. It's probably the most buzzed-about attraction right now and it has a unique way of getting in line to ride, so let's chat all about
the Boarding Group process and how your kids and their friends can attempt to join when they're at
Disney's Hollywood Studios.
Erin, in order to try to join a boarding group for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, all members of the party must have had their admission scanned and be inside Disney's Hollywood Studios so you won't be able to join a Boarding Group for your kids from home. If they want to ride, they will need to open up the
My Disney Experience app as soon as the Theme Park opens and create their riding party using the Boarding Group button on the main page. If they're successful, they'll get a Boarding Group number and receive a notification when it's time to ride! Boarding Groups are going very quickly in the morning, sometimes within minutes or less, so the best thing you can do to help them is to make sure that they know how to use the
My Disney Experience app and that they're ready in the morning and inside of the Disney's Hollywood Studios the moment it opens. There may be a second opportunity to join a Boarding Group in the afternoon so if they don't get them in the first drop, there might still be a chance to ride.
Have a magical day, Erin!
