Hello, Melissa, welcome back to planDisney! Planning for your upcoming visit to the
Walt Disney World Resort can be exciting and stressful. Still, I can assure you, that the latest technology that you may feel uncomfortable with now, is easy to use and will make both your life and your vacation easier!
Photos taken through
Disney PhotoPass Service, whether taken by select attractions or professional Cast Member photographers, will automatically be linked to your Disney account through your linked MagicBand/MagicBand+ or your registered Bluetooth-enabled mobile device. You can also use your band or mobile device to tap a Mickey touchpoint just to be safe. These photos are subject to the
Disney PhotoPass expiration policy which will be 45 days from when the photo was taken.
To ensure the automatic functionality works, you will want to ensure your band is linked to your Disney account. Through the
My Disney Experience app, you will tap the menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the bottom right corner of the screen, select MagicBands and More, and then Link Your MagicBand or Card to tap your phone to your band. If you are not planning on utilizing a band for your vacation, you will want to set up your mobile device to be able to do the same thing. For both iOS (Apple) devices and Android devices, you will want to sign into your My Disney Experience app, enable Bluetooth permissions, and then keep your device with you when riding attractions (make sure you have them stored safely in your bag, pocket, or attraction storage compartment). If you have an Android device, you will want to turn off the Power Saver Mode on your device as well.
We just returned from an amazing weekend at Walt Disney World and were able to take our youngest son on Space Mountain for the first time. The photo automatically pushed to my Disney account through my MagicBand was priceless and captured a memory that we will never forget!
I hope this helps, Melissa. Please come back to planDisney if you have any additional questions!
Thanks, Brent
