We're not DVC members. Looking at booking either BoardWalk Villas or Bay Lake Tower. Boardwalk is our #1 choice, but it doesn't seem to offer a sleeper bed. Could one be put in our room upon request, or is Bay Lake the way to go?

Hi Mariah! My family is also not one if the many DVC owners at Walt Disney World but we have opted to use some of the DVC facilities in the past. Of course this is only possible when available so what you might be seeing is that the type of room you are looking for is just not open for you at the times you had requested.

Both locations are wonderful so it really comes down to what location do you prefer. Boardwalk is easily accessible to both Epcot and Hollywood Studios parks and Bay Lake Tower is right next door to the Magic Kingdom. Next you need to consider the convenience of transportation.  When staying at Bay Lake Towers you have quite a little walk to reach the Contemporary main building where you can either hop on a bus or take the monorail.  However, many of the Boardwalk rooms are a distance from the main lobby area of the resort where you catch the buses. You do have an easy walk to Hollywood Studios though.  And Epcot is a walk away versus needing a bus or boat and you have the boat option to the Studios.

As far as sleeper sofas both locations offer those in their studios and also their one bedroom units. In the two bedroom ones you can find sleeper sofas in the second bedroom as well as the living area. Bay Lake Towers also has sleeper chairs in the living rooms but those tend to be quite small and only good for children.  You cannot add rollaways or sleeper sofas in the units as they must keep track of occupancy for the fire codes.

Decide what location you would prefer and start there by seeing if there is any availability. If not move on to your second wish and start your planning!
