We are not DVC members, but want to book a 2 bdrm villa (maybe AKV or VWL) for Thanksgiving week 2013. What are the chances of actually being able to book one at this busy time of year? Any experience with renting DVC points through Dave's DVC rentals?

The great news is that anyone can book a room at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas and there are often rooms available, even at peak seasons, for non-DVC Guests wishing to book a room at a DVC resort. These African lodge-style spacious accommodations have kitchenettes/kitchens and multi-bedroom units. You also get to view over 30 species of wildlife that roam free amidst the lush, tropical savannas, the Villas offer you the unique opportunity to observe exotic animals in their natural habitat. It has quickly become my favorite place to stay and you will soon see why. As of now, there are Club Level 2 bedrooms available for the around Thanksgiving, including the very last week of November, 2013. I would suggest that you contact Walt Disney World Resort Room-Only Bookings at (407) WDW-7429 to determine what best works for your visit. Since people cancel trips all the time the helpful cast members are always willing to provide their years' worth of insight in these types of matters, and have advised me several times about the likelihood of reservations opening up at specific resorts, especially at holiday seasons. I hope this assists you having that dream vacation at the Happiest Place on Earth and I cannot wait to see you at the parks.
