Hi Amanda!
Hakuna matata – no matter how long it’s been, you’re as welcome as can be! Things change quickly around here, so I’m happy to be your guide as you get reacquainted.
My family had a great day at Disney's
Typhoon Lagoon! I confess that water parks aren’t my thing... but the fun attractions, Disney storytelling, gorgeous setting and delicious food had me singing a different tune! Typhoon Lagoon doesn't have a re-opening date yet, but a storm's brewing way off the coast because Disney just announced the return of
H2O Glow Nights beginning May 20, 2023! It will likely open before then, but it’s not clear if that will be in April. Please keep an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog and the
posted hours on the Walt Disney World website.
You can purchase a
single-day ticket to the water parks. Disney's
Blizzard Beach is open and your ticket is valid for either water park, pending operating hours. I recommend upgrading your visit with a
Lodge Umbrella for a shady, comfortable place to set up camp for your family.
To enjoy the evening at Magic Kingdom Park, a
one-day theme park ticket is best. The Park Hopper Plus Option would include your daytime splash plans but the cost for one day of this ticket type is more than the two individual days. Unfortunately, there is not an after-hours event which would allow entry just for the night.
Theme park reservations are required and should be made when you buy your ticket.
I understand wanting to hop into Magic Kingdom for some favorite attractions, and I highly recommend
Disney Genie+ Service and Individual Lightning Lane purchases to maximize your time. You should purchase both in the morning and check availability for attraction entry times on your
My Disney Experience app while at the water park to ensure you have times secured. April is a popular time to visit with the return of a favorite
nighttime spectacular and the grand opening of
TRON: Lightcycle / Run.
Another idea is to enjoy an Enchanting Extra instead of Magic Kingdom after a tiring water park day. Perhaps the
Starlight Safari (pair with dinner at Boma or Sanaa) or a
Specialty Fireworks Cruise (pair with dinner at a nearby resort)? Your family would also love the
Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue – an incredible dinner show that will leave you in tears with laughter! Enchanting Extras and dining reservations now open 60 days in advance at 6:00 A.M. EST.
I hope this gives you some ideas for a special Disney day together, Amanda!
Do as dreamers do,
Amy
