I have not been to disney in a while, lots of questions: With the park hopper pass, can you enter the second park at any time? Can you leave and return to the original park, or do you have to stay in the second park the rest of the day?

Hey there, Gina! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question.

I've been parking hopping since its return at the start of this year. It does look a little bit different than it did before so I am glad you asked. Here's how park hopping is currently working:
    • Guests wishing to park hop must have valid theme park admission with the park hopper pass
    • Guests wishing to park hop must make park pass reservations for an initial theme park they'd like to visit each day while on vacation
    • With the park hopper pass it is not necessary to make multiple park pass reservations - just the initial one each day
    • On the day of, you must scan in and enter the theme park with the park pass reservation before continuing on to other theme parks. This sort of "activates" your park hopper pass each day
    • You are able to park hop starting at 2:00 p.m. each day
    • You are able to park hop to as many other parks as you'd like throughout the day as long as you've entered the theme park with the park pass reservation and it is after 2:00 p.m.
When it comes to leaving and re-entering the theme park with the park pass reservation, you can come and go as you please. If you leave for lunch, you do not need to wait until 2:00 p.m. to return. You can also just enter the park later in the day if you'd like. It basically secures your spot at that particular park all day. After 2:00 p.m. you can come and go as you please throughout all of the Walt Disney World Theme Parks. If your park pass reservation is set for Magic Kingdom Park and at 2:00 p.m. you hop over to Disney's Hollywood Studios for a bit you can then leave that park and head back to Magic Kingdom Park or to another like Epcot for the rest of the day. As long as it is after 2:00 p.m. you have a lot of flexibility. To make park hopping a little bit easier for Guests at this time, complimentary park-to-park bus transportation is currently being provided.

Gina, I hope this helps with the questions that you had about park hopping. If you have any other questions, please feel free to come back and ask me. I'm here to help!

    Happy hopping!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
