Hi, my DH is not a Disney fanatic the way I am. Having a hard time convincing him to go to ALL 4 parks. He only wants to do 1 or 2, how do I convince him that WDW is more than that? We live in So. CA, so he's used to DL. How do I tell him it's different?

    Hi Victoria,

Sometimes it can be challenging getting the people we love to understand our addiction for all things Disney.  Be patient - I think your husband will come around.  Is this a vacation that you are taking, specifically, to go to Walt Disney World, or is this a trip to Orlando with a stop at Magic Kingdom?

Based on your question, I'm assuming it's the latter.  Although there are many of the same attractions found in Disneyland and California Adventure, Disney World is an entirely different experience.  Once you enter the main gates, you will be immersed in all things Disney.  The outside world isn't visible from the top of Splash Mountain.  There is so much to take in at the parks, the resorts, the water parks, and the downtown area that you can't possibly see in 2 days.  The size of Walt Disney World is roughly the size of Manhattan.

Is your schedule flexible?  If so, go with his two park suggestion.  You may want to get a park hopper pass if you can, just to get a flavor of all of the parks.  Although, be aware that getting from park to park is a little more complicated and time consuming than at Disneyland.  If a park hopper isn't in your budget, I recommend visiting Epcot and Animal Kingdom.  After your day at Animal Kingdom, it should still be early enough to head over to the Polynesian to grab a bite to eat and catch Wishes (the nightly firework display) from the beach.

If you don't get to see all four parks this time, maybe he'll enjoy it enough that he suggests planning a future trip.

I'll be sending happy thoughts and pixie dust your way!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
