    Hi. I do not have a Disney Dining Plan. We are going to Disney in July and reserved a table at Chef’s Mickey. Will we need to purchase a dining plan in order to eat at Chef Mickey’s. Or are we able to pay out of pocket?

    Hello Marcos, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with a great planning question.

    Congratulations on scoring a reservation for one of my favorite Character meals. Chef Mickey’s is my favorite for several reasons. Not only do you get to interact with Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Pluto, and Goofy, commonly referred to as the “Fab 5.” But the food is absolutely scrumptious. There are a number of picky eaters in my travel party and the buffet at Chef Mickey’s has something to satisfy every palette. I also love the fact, that you do not have to stand in line to meet the Characters. So don’t forget to bring your autograph books and your camera because you will not want to miss capturing the magical one-on-one time with Mickey and his gang when they visit your table. Keep in mind that Characters scheduled to appear may be subject to change.

    You are not required to have a Disney Dining Plan to enjoy a meal at Chef Mickey’s or any of the other hundreds of restaurants at the Walt Disney World Resort. You can either pay out-of-pocket or if you are a guest staying at a Disney Resort Hotel, you can charge your meals back to your room. The Disney Dining Plan is one option for Disney Resort Hotel guests to save money on their dining costs depending on which plan option is best for them. I would highly recommend that you make reservations for any other table service restaurants that you would like to enjoy. Enjoy your wonderful trip!
