If we do not buy wrist bands what is used to get into the parks/rooms?

Hey there Cindy and welcome back to planDisney!

I hope the answers to your questions have been helping as you plan for that visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth at the merriest time of year. Now I personally love MagicBands (as if I need another bit of merchandise to buy), but they aren't the only way to go through your Walt Disney World vacation with ease. Everything you need can be found right on your mobile device!

Opening the door to your room at your Disney Resorts Collection hotel is as easy as opening your My Disney Experience app. Once you're all checked in to your hotel, you simply open the app, and right there on the home screen, you'll see your hotel reservation. Directly underneath you can tap the Unlock Door button. A blue screen with a starry Mickey-shaped cut out at the center will appear and you just place your phone on the door. And just like that, you're in!

The Disney MagicMobile pass can open much more than just doors. It's an easy way to meet all of your Walt Disney World needs with a single download to your mobile device's wallet. You can use it to tap into the Mickey tapstiles at both the entrance to the Disney Parks and the Lightning Lane entrances at attractions. You can also charge your purchases to your card as well as use it to connect any Disney PhotoPass pictures to your My Disney Experience account. It covers all of the same ground as the MagicBand without adding an extra accessory!

Cindy, don't worry about not having a MagicBand. These fancy phones cover everything you need!

    Happy planning!
