Since we will not get to the Animal Kingdom Lodge until maybe 5pm, should we skip the first day at the parks, and save the money on the park admission for that one day, or would it be worth it to get out to a park for the evening? We arrive 12/1/08. Thanks

We always spend the evening relaxing at our hotel and dining somewhere with some Disney magic.

I tend to underestimate how tired we are after traveling. This past June we also experienced a flight delay and missed our Chef Mickey's dinner. I would make a dining reservation but if you are unable to make your ADR due to delays or because you are too tired to journey to the restaurant, then you could just eat at your hotel's quick service location. Try to call and cancel your Advance Dining Reservation though.

Since you are staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, you will have plenty of exploring to do right at your resort. Also pick up an Activities sheet at Check In to see what is in store that evening. Sitting by the campfire near Arusha Rock is always fun.

Have dinner at your hotel or at the nearby Animal Kingdom's Rainforest Cafe. Enjoy swimming in the pool after dinner. Watch the animals on the savanna. Check out the extensive art collection

Then get a good night's rest. You want to be at your designated park before it opens!
