Hi Kristine,
Thanks for posting your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I love queries about the
Disney Dining Plan. My family has discovered over the years that Walt Disney World Resort vacations that include the Disney Dining Plan are always a special treat. Perhaps you've read about the exciting changes to the Disney Dining Plan in 2018. Non-alcoholic specialty beverages are among the new options. I can't wait to order an artisanal milkshake or fresh smoothie using my Disney Dining Plan this year. Guests over 21 could choose instead to order a specialty cocktail with their meal.
There is no need to add the Disney Dining Plan immediately when you book your vacation. You can add a Disney Dining Plan to any Disney resort reservation until one day prior to your arrival. Full payment for the package would be required at that time. So give yourself some time to do a side-by-side comparison of the cost of the Disney Dining Plan and the cost of meals without the plan. (
Menus with estimated prices for Disney restaurants are available. Just type in a restaurant name at the
Walt Disney World homepage and click on the menu that appears mid-page on the right.) If it looks like the Disney Dining Plan makes sense for you, I heartily encourage you to give it a try. I bet you will enjoy its flexibility and convenience.
If you need any suggestions as to where to use those precious Disney Dining Plan snack credits, you know where to find us!
Bon appétit,
Jill
