    Not going to be able to make it to disney for first time. So thinking since I will be in the area an alternative would be breakfast at Chef Mickey's. Is this possible or do I have to have tickets to theme park. I figure will have to pay parking.

    Hi Michael,

    Good news on two fronts! Chef Mickey's, which is a fun character dining experience, is located in the Contemporary Resort. The hotel is adjacent to Magic Kingdom, but it is outside the gates, so you do not need a ticket.

    And, if you are eating at the resort, you can park free while you dine. When you reach the entry gate for Magic Kingdom, simply tell the attendant that you are going to the Contemporary, and they will direct you to the proper lane. (Stay as far to the right as possible for ease in getting to the correct lane.)

    At the Contemporary, you will need to show your ID at the guard gate before entering the resort parking lot. You can self-park for free during your meal.

    I'm sorry you won't be able to work out a visit to the theme parks on your visit, but Chef Mickey's certainly will be a nice bit of Disney magic.
