Hi there, Theresa,
I feel for you. We’ve had a few Disney Parks experiences interrupted by COVID-19 as well. Fortunately, the magic is there and waiting for us when we get our opportunities.
I’m sorry your first choice for re-booking
theme park reservations hasn’t worked out. We’ve had challenges with finding reservations for a few visits to the Disneyland Resort as well. In each case, we still found ways to snag some park reservations for our preferred dates. Here are some of my tips for making theme park reservations for popular dates.
The number one thing is to simply keep checking. The
Theme Park Reservation Availability calendar often shows varied openings from time to time. Other Guests need to cancel their reservations, just like you. I recommend keeping a close eye on the calendar, especially the day before, as many cancellations are last-minute decisions. My family used this approach just last week. The moment we saw available reservations for our travel date, we grabbed them right away! NOTE: If you do see your preferred date become available, you will need to cancel your existing reservations first. It sounds like you are using
Southern California Resident Weekday Tickets. If that is the case, you’ll want to look out for available weekdays from now through May 26, 2022.
If you are a Guest of one of the three
Disneyland Resort Hotels, you have access to theme park reservation inventory that is
exclusively for on-site hotel Guests. This can be useful for especially popular dates. For example, we made use of this for our New Year’s Eve vacation. To take advantage of this benefit, make sure your hotel reservation confirmation number is linked with your Disneyland Resort online account and choose the hotel guest option
when making theme park reservations.
I hope one of these approaches happens to help out. I’m glad you at least have some backup reservations in place for now. If nothing else, that will help extend the magic of your tickets a little while longer.
Thanks for your question here at planDisney, Theresa. Do you have any special occasions coming up? If so, we’d love to share some of our favorite ways to celebrate at the Disneyland Resort. Feel free to drop by again if you are interested in any recommendations.
See ya real soon!
