Ahoy, Beth!
I'm thrilled to be welcoming you back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! You are thinking about booking one of my all-time favorite itineraries with Disney Cruise Line. My family and I have had the opportunity to take two Alaskan voyages and each time we were in constant awe of the beauty of the land. We saw whales, otters, caribou and even bald eagles, all from the ship's deck!
I've had friends who've sailed on a
Disney Cruise to Alaska who've seen the northern lights from the ship! Unfortunately, when we've set sail to Alaska the night skies were too bright during our voyages to see them. However, if you book a cruise in September, there's a possibility you might see the beautiful phenomenon, too! There's no guarantee that you will be able to see the northern lights during your cruise but there's definitely a chance! I've heard that the best time to see the northern lights is after midnight and the best nights to see them are on cloudless nights.
Beth, I hope if you book your family's voyage to the last frontier that you'll be able to see the northern lights in all their magnificent hues! If you aren't able to view them, don't worry! You will be amazed at all the breathtaking scenery surrounding the ship. My family loved eating meals all bundled up in sweatshirts and jackets on the outside eating area of
Cabanas taking in the sights and sounds of Alaska. It was unforgettable!
