Hi Jen,
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us another question!
Even though you don’t have strollers anymore, you may find yourself missing the amenities (and the monorail!) at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. However, if you do want to save money and try something new, of the two choices that you have listed, I would go with a Family Suite at
Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. I’ll be blunt: I don’t love
Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. I find it too big and spread out, I find the dining options somewhat lacklustre and the theming isn’t really my thing (I’m definitely NOT a beach bum).
We stayed in a Family Suite with our little guy at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort during our last trip and he absolutely loved it. Although I found the theming a bit loud (super bright and colourful), he loved seeing his Cars friends and staying in “Lightning McQueen’s house” and swimming in Nemo’s (awesome) Big Blue Pool. Plus, I found that the food court, Landscape of Flavours, had some great choices for my family. You also can’t go wrong with the extra space (especially a separate sleeping area for you, with two bathrooms and a kitchenette) that comes with the Family Suites.
But, if you’re “used to” a Deluxe Resort… Might I suggest taking a look at
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge? I can’t say enough good things about
my favourite Walt Disney World Resort Hotel!
Have a Magical Day,
Lynne
