Ahoy, Terry!
When planning a Disney Cruise during the winter months, there's one thing to know about the weather: it can be unpredictable. Some cruisers have reported warm, balmy temps, while others have experienced windy, cool days. It's hard to know what Mother Nature has in store!
A few years ago, we sailed in January on a
Castaway Cay "Double Dip" cruise. Our itinerary had us visit Disney's private island not once, but twice! On our first day on the island, it was quite breezy and cool. Not many folks braved the cold water, but it was still nice to sit on the beach or go for a
bike ride around the island. I'm sure the participants in the Castaway Cay 5K weren't complaining about the cool weather, it was perfect for a run!
After a couple of days at sea, we returned to visit Castaway Cay for a second time. The temperature was quite warm, and the ocean was full of guests. I can't say it was warm enough for me personally, but my kids jumped right in! If the water is too cold to swim, there's still lots of island activities to keep you busy during the day.
So while there's no "normal" temps in Castaway Cay in January, you can always hope for a warm day, full of sunshine - it's been known to happen! Here's hoping Mother Nature grants your wish during your magical Disney Cruise Line vacation!
