We come from a non-tipping country but totally believe in the 'when in Rome' concept! If paying by credit/debit card is it ok to pay the tip with your card or is cash more acceptable? And what is considered a good tip? Do you tip QS? Thanks!

    Hi Maria!

I understand how different areas of our world have different habits concerning tipping for services. I just spent two weeks in places and had to check about the tipping policies myself.

In the United States tipping is generally not included unless you have a large party of six or more. When that happens the tip is usually 18% and it is included in the final bill. Always check the bill when it arrives to make sure the tip has not been included. You will see it on its own line before the total. If the tip has not been included you can make your own personal judgment with most tips being from 15-20%. You can certainly add your tip to your credit card and will do that when the server brings you back the statement to sign. Simply add the tip you feel is appropriate and total it up. Tipping is not required but certainly expected for good service in this country which will include all of the great table service Disney Restaurants. Tips are not expected at Quick Service locations unless you feel someone has gone out of their way for you but even then it is rare you would tip.

If cash is easier for you then a cash tip is certainly welcome as well. Whatever will be best for you during your vacation is absolutely fine for all of the Disney dining establishments. Hope this helps with your planning budget. Make sure you get those dining reservations ahead of time. You can do this as early as 180 days from your arrival. Many of the popular locations will book up quickly.
