Hi there, David - welcome to planDisney! I'm so glad you found us. You've got a friend in me, and I'll be happy to share the information you need to plan a magical beachside vacation. Surf's up!
Disney's Vero Beach Resort is such a beautiful spot! I grew up on the East Coast and those Atlantic beaches are just about perfect in my book. Our family visited for a quick trip earlier this year after spending some time up the road at
Walt Disney World Resort and loved exploring the grounds and relaxing with our toes in the sand.
Although Vero is a
Disney Vacation Club resort, it is possible for non-DVC Members to book a stay. However, because rooms are made available to accommodate DVC folks first, there is often limited availability when bookings open to non-DVC Guests (usually about six months in advance of your desired check-in date). So, it may be that the resort is at full occupancy for the time frame you looked at.
David, I'm sorry that you experienced a long hold time when calling the resort. If you were trying to call this week, the preparations for Hurricane Milton in Florida may have contributed to this, as Cast Members at the resort were working to secure the property and work with any Guests at the resort or arriving in the next several days. Their commitment and care is really amazing!
Guests' plans do change, so you can always keep checking the website to see if perhaps there is a cancellation that you can pounce on. I recommend this route, rather than calling, as I am sure there will still be many Guests needing assistance in the immediate aftermath of the storm.
I hope this information is helpful, David, and that you can find a last-minute reservation at Vero Beach. This time next month you will hopefully be enjoying the Florida sunshine! Thanks so much for visiting planDisney, and please stop by again anytime if we can assist with other questions.
SEA Ya Real Soon!
