Are non-assistance dogs aloud in the parks? If not, are there any "dog hotels"?

Hi Courtney! Leaving behind the four legged members of our family while vacationing is very hard. I have two very loved Bulldogs who go with us wherever we go now.

The news about dogs at Walt Disney World is that absolutely no animal is allowed in any of their parks or public areas such as Disney Springs as well as their resorts unless they are a certified assistance animal. These animals must have the correct vesting on at all times and certification. You can only imagine if everyone brought their pets to the Disney parks and resorts and the kind of chaos that would cause. I once observed an assistance dog with its owner watching the tigers in the Animal Kingdom and the Tigers immediately became nervous and stressed.

There is some good news about bringing your pets to Walt Disney World and that is Fort Wilderness. This is the ONLY way you can bring along Fido or Kitty but it means you will have to have some sort of a recreational vehicle. Pets are not allowed in the cabins or in tents but if you have an RV you can bring two per vehicle. There are dog walks, dog park area, and lots of sidewalks where you can take long walks with your best friend. Dogs must be kept on leashes at all times when outside of your RV but it is still a great way to share a vacation with your pet.

Your other option for a Disney vacation when bringing your pet is to reserve a spot at the Best Friends Pet Care which is a wonderful facility on property near the Port Orleans resort. You can board your pet there for the duration of your vacation in one of many types of facilities. We use this location all the time and love the facility and the people. You can visit your pet at any time and walk them and let them play in their outside area that includes water features. They also have a doggy day care if you just need a few hours during the day.  http://www.bestfriendspetcare.com/waltdisneyworldresort/photos-videos/

Hope this helps with your future trip!
