Hey there, Kathy. Thanks for stopping by
planDisney with your question.
Kathy, I think it is super generous to want to pass along your Florida resident discount to friends. It's such a great deal. However, it is not possible for a Guest (ages 18 and older) who does not reside in Florida to use a
Florida Resident ticket. Before using the tickets, the ticket holder must provide proof of residency by either a valid Florida driver’s license (must have a Florida address), a valid Florida state-issued ID card (must have a Florida address) or a valid Florida-based military ID. There are other ways to do this as well, but those are the most common options. You can verify your proof of residency either online when purchasing the tickets or at a Guest Relations window at any of the four Walt Disney World Theme Parks.
Of course, your friend can still visit the Walt Disney World Theme Parks. They'll need to purchase either a
standard Walt Disney World Theme Park ticket or they can upgrade to the
park hopper option. Once tickets are purchased, Kathy, both of you will still need to make park pass reservations. Park pass reservations are like a virtual placeholder in line at the particular theme park you'd like to visit. This helps reserve your spot since the Walt Disney World Theme Parks are still operating at a limited capacity.
I see that you might be visiting Walt Disney World in just a few short days. Did you know that the
EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival starts blooming on March 2nd? It's my favorite festival of the year and I am so looking forward to it. Hopefully, you are planning a visit as well. If you haven't already, check out the
Disney Parks Blog Food Guide to the 2022 festival. The guide breaks down the offerings from the outdoor kitchens throughout the festival and highlights some dishes to look forward to!
I hope this helps, Kathy. If you have any other questions about this or anything else, stop back by and
ask me. I'm happy to help.
Enjoy!
Jackie H.
