Heigh-ho, MaryJo! Welcome to planDisney.
Staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel is a truly enchanting experience. With their detailed theming, unique storytelling, and world-class customer service, they really immerse you in the magic. The
benefits of staying on property, such as free and convenient transportation and extra time in the Theme Parks, serve to sprinkle even more pixie dust on your trip. Every Guest staying at a Disney Resort can take advantage of
early Theme Park entry. This 30-minute head start enables you to ride some of the more popular attractions before crowds get busy. As you've mentioned in your question, Guests staying at Disney Deluxe Resort Hotels or Disney Deluxe Villas can enjoy the extra benefit of
extended evening hours in select Theme Parks on select nights. The romantic ambiance and shorter wait times make this my favorite time to enjoy the parks.
MaryJo, these extended evening hours are reserved for Guests staying at Disney Deluxe Resort Hotels and Disney Deluxe Villas. Transportation to other resorts (both on and off property) stops shortly after the regular closing time. So unless you wanted to "go the distance" and end up walking back to your hotel (believe me, you do NOT want to do this), you'll want to abide by these rules.
If you're looking for a Deluxe Resort to stay in, I recently stayed at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. Although this Resort is a little isolated, the standard rooms can be your cheapest Deluxe option. This will enable you to enjoy those extended evening hours. Plus, this is an incredible Resort! They’ve got whoozits and whatzits galore. The lobby is majestic, the theming is enchanting, the restaurants are delicious, the pool is relaxing, and there is African wildlife everywhere!
Whatever you decide to do, I hope you have a wonderful trip, MaryJo. Make sure you check out all the amazing things on offer for the
50th Anniversary Celebration.
ChEARS,
Mike
