DS4 is noise sensitive, can he wear headphones on most of the rides? The type many wear using power tools and fit snuggly on his head, am afraid he will be too focused on the possibility of loud noises and not enjoy himself. Not doing high thrill too short

    Hi Laurie!

Being the Mom of a special needs child, I completely understand your concerns.  I always recommend that parents of kids with sensitivity to noise bring headphones or ear plugs to help keep the noise level down.  I have seen lots of Guests wearing the type of earphones that you are describing so please feel free to bring them.  There are some attractions that require you to store loose articles (i.e., Tower of Terror, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, Mission: Space to name a few) but it sounds like you won't be doing those types of attractions. You'll find that other than the high thrill attractions, your son will be able to wear them on most all of the attractions.

Also keep in mind that the fireworks can be loud as well. You could consider watching the Magic Kingdom fireworks from outside the park.  The beach at the Polynesian Resort offers a great view. Make sure he keeps the headphones on for the parades too.  The music can be loud along the parade route.  Some of the outdoor performances may also involve a single burst of fireworks at the end so be aware of that when you're watching them.
There is a lot of stimulation in the parks.  If your son becomes anxious due to the noise level, pack it up and head back to your resort to give him a break. You may not get to do everything on this trip but you can make the most of everything you do.

Please feel free to visit again with all of your questions. Its our pleasure to assist you!

Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
