If there are no tickets available for Hollywood Studios the week we are going, are there any options to use Park Hopper to try and get in that week? Or does that mean there is no chance of getting into that park at all?

Hey there, Julia! Thanks for visiting us here at planDisney with your question.

So I did take a look at the Walt Disney World availability calendar and I can see that the parks are starting to fill up for those dates. Park hopping is actually an excellent idea to be able to enjoy those theme parks later in the day when you aren't able to snag a park pass reservation for them. Technically, park hopping can be subject to capacity limitations but I've been hopping ever since its return and I've never been turned away. In fact, I've park hopped on several days with no park pass availability and have had no problems. By 2:00 p.m., when park hopping begins, plenty of people have already left the parks for the day and that opens up spots for other people to park hop over.

If you are interested in park hopping, I should mention that it does look a little bit different since its return. Guests wishing to park hop must have valid theme park admission with the park hopper option. You'll then need to make a park pass reservation for the first Walt Disney World Theme Park you'd like to visit each day. Then, on the day of, you'll need to scan in and enter the theme park with the park pass reservation before continuing on to other theme parks throughout the day. You do not need to make more park pass reservations after your initial one each day. Park hopping hours are currently from 2:00 p.m. until each park closes in the evening. You are able to hop to as many theme parks as you can fit in after 2:00 p.m. To make park hopping a little easier for Guests, complimentary park-to-park bus transportation is currently being provided. When you are ready to park hop, and after 2:00 p.m.) you can head out of the theme park you are currently at and toward the bus stop area. You'll look for the bus stop designated to where you'd like to go next, a Cast Member will verify that you do have the park hopper option, you'll board the bus and be whisked away to your next destination.

Julia, I really enjoy park hopping and it's actually my preferred touring method of the Walt Disney World Theme Parks. I think you'll really enjoy hopping over to Disney's Hollywood Studios in the afternoon and evening hours.
If you have any other questions about park hopping or anything else, please feel free to come back and ask me. I'm happy to help.

    Have fun!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
