How is the 'no straws' working? Are drink lids available?

Hello, Kathryn! Welcome to the wonderful world of of the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thanks for sending in such a great question!

In the Summer of 2018, The Walt Disney Company announced their plan to eliminate all plastic straws and plastic stirrers at all owned and operated locations across the globe by mid-2019. This, of course, means that this policy includes all dining locations found at Walt Disney World Resort. This commitment is a huge step forward in terms of environmental conservation as well as fulfilling Walt Disney’s own vision of conservation. This new policy will fit perfectly with The Walt Disney Company’s 60 year long history of caring for the planet by inspiring change, saving wildlife, reducing emissions, conserving water, and diverting waste!

Under this new policy, adult-sized fountain beverages will no longer be served with a plastic lid or plastic straw. However, children’s beverages and hot beverages will still be served with lids at this time. This is subject to change and can vary based on location, though. It should also be noted that this policy does not apply to Guests with disabilities and may be discussed at greater lengths by contacting Disability Services

If you would like to help The Walt Disney Company reduce waste, feel free to bring your own reusable straw while visiting Walt Disney World Resort!

Hopefully this has provided a bit more information on The Walt Disney Company’s environmental commitment and its impact on Walt Disney World Resort!
