Hello Yukiko, and welcome to planDisney! I can already feel the excitement building for your upcoming trip to the Disneyland Resort, especially with the
70th Anniversary Celebration just around the corner! The parks will be bursting with magic during this special time, and when you visit in September, you’ll also get to enjoy the delightfully spooky atmosphere of
Halloween Time.
During this time of year, Mickey and his pals typically wear fun Halloween costumes as they visit with Guests in Town Square. Last September, I saw Mickey in a cute skeleton-inspired costume with a cape and Minnie in a colorful patchwork dress. The costumes change a bit from year to year, so I can’t wait to see what new outfits they’ll choose for 2025!
While September will have a big focus on Halloween, I imagine some parts of the 70th Anniversary Celebration will continue. Unfortunately, Yukiko, it's a little too early to know exactly what shows will be on the schedule for your September trip, or if our favorite Disney friends will also wear their anniversary outfits during Halloween Time. We do know, thanks to the
Disney Parks Blog, that some entertainment for the 70th Anniversary will temporarily pause to make way for seasonal entertainment. For example, I expect the Halloween Screams show to take the place of the Wondrous Journeys nighttime spectacular during Halloween Time.
I'm hopeful that the Paint the Night parade and World of Color Happiness will continue in some capacity during Halloween Time, but I can't say with any certainty until the
Hours & Events Calendar is updated to reflect dates in late August and early September. The daily entertainment schedules usually appear 60 days in advance, detailing which parades and shows you might see while at the Disneyland Resort.
My best suggestion is to check that calendar around July. Also, follow the
Disney Parks Blog and the
Disneyland account on Instagram to stay updated as information is released.
Since you will be in town during Halloween Time, Yukiko, have you considered going to the
Oogie Boogie Bash? This is a separately ticketed nighttime event held at California Adventure with special Halloween-themed entertainment, treat trails, rare Character appearances, and a parade. Guests may also dress up in costume (which is not allowed during regular park hours) as long as they adhere to the guidelines.
Yukiko, I hope you have the most magical visit in a few months. Between now and then, please come to us with any other questions you might have about your trip. We at planDisney are always happy to help!
As Mickey would say, “See ya real soon!”
