Hello right back at ya from New Jersey! James, I am so very sorry that your family has suffered such a terrible loss. I cannot even begin to imagine what you are all going through.
First of all, let everyone know you are celebrating that after this devastation, your family is safe and able to move forward. Get Celebration buttons, when you make your dining reservations, let them know you are celebrating, have it noted on your room reservation, and TELL YOUR STORY! You just don't know who you may speak with that can sprinkle a little pixie dust over your vacation.
You can add a welcome package from the
Disney Florist. They can bring a great variety of gifts, treats, and other welcoming surprises to kick your trip off in an unforgettable way.
My girls loved the
Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage, which departs nightly from the Contemporary Resort for swashbuckling adventure. Start with a buffet of snacks and beverages, as you meet some of your favorite pirate villains. Then set sail on a fun filled with Patch the Pirate, who will regale you with seafaring tales of sunken treasure and dangerous duels (or he'll tell jokes and sing songs - way more fun!). Patch will sail you right out to the perfect spot just in time to watch the Wishes Fireworks from the Magic Kingdom. More surprises await when you return to shore!
Let me know if you're interested in any backstage tours or Wild Africa Trek adventure. I would hate to recommend ones that the kids are too young to enjoy!
May the memories you make on this trip help ease you through the sadness of your recent loss.
