Welcome to planDisney, Karen! Before you know it, you'll be heading to the Most Magical Place on Earth, surrounded by
holiday splendor, Mickey-shaped snacks, and hugs from all your favorite characters! It's the most wonderful time of year to visit the Walt Disney World Resort, and I'm happy to chat with you about your question today to make sure you have an amazing visit!
Karen, the new nighttime parade,
Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away, rolls on select nights at Magic Kingdom Park, delighting audiences with lights, music, and some familiar faces! I saw it for the first time last month and really enjoyed the visual effects! This month, the schedule for the parade is a little different, because the parade will not run on nights that Magic Kingdom hosts
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. To help with your planning, here are the remaining dates for the Christmas party:
- November 14, 16, 18, 20, 21, 25, 26, 28, and 30
- December 2, 4, 5, 7, 9, 11, 12, 14, 16, 18, 19, and 21
If you'll be visiting Magic Kingdom on a night not listed above, the parade usually runs at 8 PM and then again at 10 PM or 10:30 PM, depending on the
park's operating hours. You can verify the time of the parade online or in the
My Disney Experience mobile app on the day of your visit!
Karen, if you do catch the nighttime parade, the crowds tend to be a little lighter for the second run, and I recommend catching it in Frontierland if you're trying to avoid crowds as well. Keep in mind the second run does start near the entrance to Magic Kingdom and follows the reverse of the traditional parade route, ending in Frontierland, so this option also gives you a little extra time to find a spot to catch the parade!
I hope this helps, Karen! I know you're going to have a magical trip, but if you have any other questions before your visit, come see us again here at
planDisney!
Happy Holidays,
Alison
