Jambo Sandy!
Welcome to planDisney! I love that Walt Disney World Resort not only features fantastic entertainment and attractions throughout the theme parks but also offers the opportunity to enjoy unique experiences - which may even include taking a walk (or ride) on the wild side! The
Starlight Safari at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is one of several options available in the
Enchanting Extras Collection allowing you to enhance your visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth.
Sandy, the Starlight Safari takes guests on approximately a one-hour tour of the savannas where you'll be able to look for African wildlife with the help of night vision goggles. Currently, the Starlight Safari departs nightly from
Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village and offers two available tour times each night. The schedule for June won't be released until closer to reservations opening, but nightly tours have been regularly occurring so I'm sending lots of pixie-dusted wishes that the schedule continues that way for your visit!
Reservations open 60 days before your desired date for this popular tour however, guests of the
Disney Resorts Collection enjoy the added benefit of being able to make dining and tour reservations 60 days before you arrive at Walt Disney World Resort for your entire length of stay! If you have any interest in other animal experiences during your visit, you may want to check out
Up Close with Rhinos,
Caring for Giants,
Wild Africa Trek, or
Savor the Savanna as well.
On the evening of your safari adventure, I'd recommend grabbing a dinner reservation at
Sanna before you begin your tour of the savanna. While the curry here is delicious, the real star of the show is the Indian-style Bread Service. Your dinner also comes with a pretty amazing view as the windows look out on the savanna. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!
Sandy, I hope this is helpful as you plan for your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World Resort. Please stop by planDisney to see us again if you have any other questions - we're all ears!
Cheers,
Kristi
