Well hello there, Donna. Welcome to planDisney!
I love that you're getting ready for the
holiday season at the
Walt Disney World Resort. It's truly the most magical (and wonderful) time of the year to spend time here! I'm planning on attending the party this year and I cannot wait for the announcement. Be sure to stay tuned to the
Disney Parks Blog for any announcements related to the holiday season! Who knows what surprises might be in store for us?
A special ticketed event in one theme park does not usually affect the hours of another theme park. So
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party at
Magic Kingdom Park shouldn't affect the hours of
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. While they are subject to change, hours are typically posted on the
Hours & Events Calendar on the website 60 days ahead of time. You should be able to see any special events listed at each park at that time. If there isn't a special event listed for Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park on the night you're looking to visit, you should be good to stay until closing as long you have valid theme park admission! Just note that as winter approaches, the closing time of this park is usually earlier, typically around 7 p.m. in December. Once again, just make sure you check the hours as your vacation approaches.
While in the past, Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park hasn't had its own specialty holiday party like
Disney's Hollywood Studios or Magic Kingdom Park, that doesn't mean the holidays aren't celebrated here. I find the winter animal-inspired decorations, especially on Discovery Island, to be some of the most beautiful at the resort. And there are usually the cutest life-size artisan puppets called the
Merry Menagerie throughout the day that are just darling and fun. Offerings can and do change from year to year but my fingers are crossed that they'll be back this year because they put such a smile on each Guest's face!
Donna, I hope you enjoy your holiday visit to the resort. If you have any other questions,
I'm happy to find the answers for you!
Happiness is the richest thing we will ever own,
Matt
