For the 15 night South Pacific cruise from Sydney ending in Honolulu is the port side or starboard better for this trip

    Ahoy, Ameena!

Welcome aboard planDisney! A 15-night South Pacific sailing on the Disney Wonder from Sydney to Honolulu? Now that’s what I call a dream worth chasing—Moana would be proud! You're about to embark on a journey filled with ocean breezes, tropical vibes, and plenty of Disney magic sprinkled across every nautical mile.

Let’s talk about your stateroom side—port or starboard—and which might be better for this spectacular itinerary. I have to admit, choosing between the two is a little like choosing between Mickey and Minnie… you really can’t go wrong, but one might fit your adventure style just a little better!

The starboard side (right side when you're facing the front of the ship) is where you'll want to be if you're a sunrise chaser. As you head northeast, the early morning light will stretch across that horizon like Simba taking his first look at the Pride Lands—pure magic. It’s also the side where you’re more likely to catch those first peeks at the islands as you pull into dreamy ports like New Caledonia, Fiji, and American Samoa.

The port side (left side of the ship) will give you a front-row seat to those breathtaking sunsets over the open ocean as each day winds down. If you’re anything like me and love to unwind with a snack from the pool deck or a tropical drink in hand while the sky goes full Tangled lantern scene, this side’s calling your name.

Now, no matter which side you choose, the best part is that the Wonder gives you plenty of access to panoramic views—from deck 4’s Promenade to the upper decks with ocean breezes and maybe even a few character dance parties thrown in. I’ve spent sea days just wandering the ship with my camera, soaking up the views, and letting the salty air work its magic—trust me, there’s pixie dust in every direction.

One more thing to keep in mind: the ship’s position and approach into each port can vary, so you may not always be on the "island side" of the ship when docking—but with the number of sea days you’ll have, you’ll still be treated to more ocean beauty than Maui has tattoos.

Ameena, no matter which side you choose, the Wonder will dazzle you from bow to stern. Be sure to pack your binoculars, your best tropical cruise wear, and a sense of adventure—because this itinerary is filled with moments that will have you saying, “I’m so glad I left the shore!”

Sea ya real soon as May brings sunshine, magical ports, and maybe a Mickey bar or two,
