Ahoy there, Stephanie!
Welcome aboard planDisney! Sailing on a Very Merrytime cruise over Thanksgiving is one of my favorite ways to celebrate the holiday, and with Thanksgiving dinner, Pirate Night, and all that holiday magic packed into four nights, your sailing has a lot trying to squeeze onto the nice list!
Now, I’m not totally sure if you’re already booked or if there’s a particular ship you’re considering, but it’s important to know that each ship may handle special menus a little differently, and the plans are always subject to change. Once onboard, I recommend checking your
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app for your dining rotation and the final menus. If the rotation you’re assigned isn’t quite what you were hoping for, look in your Navigator app for the Onboard Dining Session on embarkation day. That’s your opportunity to speak directly with the Dining Team before your first dinner, and while changes aren’t guaranteed, they’ll do their best to accommodate your request.
As you mentioned, there’s a lot happening during your sailing. You have Pirate Night, Thanksgiving, and the
Very Merrytime festivities all trying to fit into a four-night cruise. Based on previous sailings and my experience, my best guess is that Thanksgiving will be the special dinner menu and the
Pirate Night dinner menu will be skipped. That would allow each Guest to experience the regular menu in all three rotational dining restaurants while still enjoying a traditional Thanksgiving meal on the holiday.
The exact way the menus are handled can vary, so don’t take that example as your official dining schedule. Think of it more like Remy testing a recipe before dinner service: it gives you a pretty good idea of how all the ingredients could come together, but we won’t know the final presentation until your sailing. And don’t worry, skipping a Pirate Night dinner menu wouldn’t mean sending the pirates to Davy Jones’ locker! You could still enjoy the other Pirate Night festivities around the ship and finish the evening with the deck party and fireworks, weather permitting.
I hope this helps you picture how Disney may fit four nights of dining into a
sailing overflowing with Thanksgiving, Christmas, and pirate fun. No matter how the menus ultimately shake out, I’d arrive hungry because your crew has quite the holiday feast and adventure ahead!
Sea ya real soon as summer waves goodbye and autumn magic begins to shine,
Dustin
