    What is Night of Joy? Is it a special ticketed event? I'm arriving at Disney 9/10/11 and I see that the Night of Joy is 9/9-10. We weren't sure if we were going to go to the parks the first night since it's a travel day. Should we plan on not going to MK?

    Hi Kathleen,

    Night of Joy is a contemporary Christian music festival held during the evening at the Magic Kingdom. This awesome festival features live performances by some really big contemporary Christian artists.  The 2011 dates are scheduled for September 9th and 10th.

    This event is not included in regular theme park admission and does require a special event ticket.   These tickets have not yet gone on sale.

    The event details have not been finalized at this time but artists currently scheduled to perform include:

    Friday, September 9th
    * Skillet
    * Newsboys
    * Jeremy Camp

    Saturday, September 10th
    * MercyMe
    * TobyMac
    * Jars of Clay

    Unless you plan to purchase a special event ticket and attend Night of Joy, I would use my first evening to settle in.  You could enjoy the amenities at your resort, have a nice dinner somewhere and get ready for an early start the next day.
