Ahoy, Rachel! Welcome to planDisney, where we aim to answer all of your questions about sailing where magic meets the sea. Let me give you some additional information about your upcoming itinerary and a few suggestions to help put you on course for smooth sailing.
It looks like your reservation is for the 5-Night Halloween on the High Seas Bahamian Cruise from Port Canaveral aboard the
Disney Fantasy on September 25-30, 2026. That means that you will get to experience everything that
both of Disney’s island destinations have to offer, a pirate party, and some extra spooky surprises that are unique to the specialty cruises offered during this time of year. I understand that the packing process can be overwhelming with so many different things going on, but I am happy to provide you with a few tips to make sure you bring everything that you will need.
My first tip is to check out the
official Disney Cruise Line packing list for Bahamian and Caribbean cruises, which will give you suggestions on what you will need for a typical sailing. Remember that your luggage may not be delivered to your stateroom until later in the evening on embarkation day, so you should keep anything that you may need or want in your carry-on bag to guarantee access during your first afternoon and evening onboard.
Although it looks like there may be a semi-formal night scheduled during your sailing, I assure you that you do not need to pack any tuxedos or ballgowns. In my experience, you may see some families dress up a bit for dinner on the semi-formal night, but you will see many others in their regular cruise casual wear. Your vacation is meant to be a fun and enjoyable experience, so I would not bother packing anything formal unless you have a reservation scheduled at one of the
adult exclusive dining venues that have an actual dress code.
In contrast, I do highly recommend bringing costumes with you to fully enjoy the
Halloween on the High Seas exclusive experiences like Mickey’s Mouse-querade Party and trick-or-treating. You will see guests wearing everything from simple character shirts to elaborate original designs, but you definitely do not want to miss out on the chance to wear costumes along with your favorite Disney friends. Similarly, you can expect a lot of guests onboard to dress up in their buccaneer best on
Pirate Night. While full pirate costumes are certainly welcome, accessories such as hats and eyepatches are an easier choice that take up less space in your luggage.
Once you arrive at Port Canaveral and can connect to the ship's wi-fi, you will be able to see the full schedule of events for your entire sailing in the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App. The Navigator App will help answer a lot of your questions about everything that is happening onboard, so be sure to download it prior to embarkation day.
I hope that gives you a little bit of insight into what you can expect, but honestly the choice of what to pack and wear is completely up to you. If you have any other last minute questions, then please do not hesitate to reach back out to us at planDisney. Happy sailing!
