We’re going on a 7 night eastern on Fantasy. There will be a Star Wars day. Will there still be a pirate night? Is Star Wars day at sea and pirate night held on the same day/night? Or different nights? What kind of things can we expect?First timers here

    Ahoy, Lindsey!

I am so excited to hear you have a 7-night sail on the Disney Fantasy as your first Disney cruise! And even better that it has a Star Wars Day at Sea! My family had an absolute blast on that cruise a few years ago, so I can say from experience that we thought it was simply out of this galaxy!

I’ll be your Obi Wan and give you the lowdown on all the fun that’s in store on your Star Wars Day at Sea. What you can expect are special menus, character meet and greets, and live shows. Watch out for those First Order Stormtroopers though, they are out in full force looking for rebels! You’ll have to let me know if you see Baby Yoda...our family is obsessed with the little guy after watching Season One of "The Mandalorian" on Disney+!

Highlights for us were the character interactions with Darth Vader and C-3PO; the delicious Star Wars buffet at Cabanas; the “Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple” experience where young padawans learn how to become Jedis; all the Star Wars movies playing in the Buena Vista Theatre; and the “Summon the Force” deck party and fireworks show. There’s just something about fireworks at sea and having them synchronized with the epic Star Wars music by John Williams!

Reserve a time online with Chewbacca, C-3PO, R2-D2 and Darth Vader during scheduled Star Wars photo sessions. Once your cruise is paid in full and your Advance Booking Window opens (75 days prior to sailing for first time Disney cruisers like yourself), log in to the Disney Cruise Line website under your reservation, and look for your Star Wars Day at Sea to grab these ticketed Character Greeting opportunities and a spot in the Jedi training.

Shiver me timbers, not only do you have a special day dedicated to all things Star Wars, but you also have a Pirate Night to look forward to! The actual specifics of your 2021 itinerary have not been released yet, but I can tell you that the same Eastern Caribbean voyage this year is having the Pirate Night on the fourth night of the cruise and it actually coincides with the port stop at Tortola!

What makes this itinerary so much fun is how everyone gets in the spirit of the theme days by dressing up. Many Guests go all out, so much so that they could actually BE one of the characters and pose for photos! Make the jump to hyperdrive by packing costumes and accessories that kick your Star Wars Day at Sea and Pirate Night experiences up a notch.

Like a Jedi needs a lightsaber, you will need the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app to stay on top of all the activities and entertainment throughout your cruise. Should you have any other questions, feel free to use the Force and summon us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel. “We will be with you, ALWAYS!” Have a FANTAStic cruise!

    SEA ya real soon!
