    We are going on a 5-night cruise on the Disney Dream. Are children allowed to wear shorts to dinner?

    Hi Amy,

    Congratulations on your upcoming Disney Dream cruise!  Gorgeous ship, excellent service (you will be soooo spoiled) and so many fun things to do!  I'm jealous that you're going without me:(

    My son who has been sailing since he was 3 (he's now 11) usually wears shorts to every dinner except for formal or semi formal night.  On my first cruise I had packed slacks for him and there was never any time to go get him changed because he wanted to stay in the youth clubs until the last possible minute before dinner.  I learned quickly that unless he got messy (which he never did), he was going to be wearing his "daytime" outfit to our evening meal.  It was never an issue.    On semi formal or formal night I make my entire family dress up because it's really the only time that I can get them to take a really nice family photo.
