Ahoy, Julie!
Thanks for sailing by planDisney to help prepare for your upcoming cruise; you’re on my favorite itinerary aboard my favorite ship! How special to not only be celebrating your wedding anniversary, but also Disney Cruise Line’s anniversary as this is a special Silver Anniversary at Sea sailing! I love packing for a cruise – yes, there’s a lot to think through but it’s also exciting to know you’ll experience so many wonderful things and only unpack once. Let’s dig into the details so you know what to expect.
I spoke with a friendly Crew Member today and have the following information for your themed nights on the May 13, 2023 Eastern Caribbean sailing aboard the beautiful Disney Fantasy:
- Saturday (night 1), Embarkation Day: Cruise Casual
- Sunday (night 2), Day at Sea: Formal
- Monday (night 3), Day at Sea: Cruise Casual
- Tuesday (night 4), Tortola BVI: Pirate Night
- Wednesday (night 5), St. Thomas USVI: Cruise Casual
- Thursday (night 6), Day at Sea: Semi Formal
- Friday (night 7), Disney Castaway Cay: Cruise Casual
Please know that entertainment is subject to change, so be sure to check your detailed itinerary in the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App once onboard. On embarkation day, I typically wear one outfit for both the day and dinner as we get settled.
“Formal” on a Disney Cruise is truly up to your level of comfort, it is not an enforced
dress code for that evening in the main dining rooms. My family enjoys the opportunity to wear a dress, blazer, or suit and feel the luxurious style of classic cruise travel. I have seen other families in more casual wear, and everyone fits in for their own taste. If my husband and I have reserved a special meal at
Palo or
Remy during the cruise, he will typically bring two dress shirts and wear the same suit or jacket to both Formal Night and the dress-code enforced meal at these adult-exclusive locations to save on packing space.
Pirate Night is a beloved Disney Cruise Line tradition, and while many like to wear full costumes it is not necessary in order to have a good time. My family likes to go casual with pirate themed tee shirts, and I enjoy an evening in my Pirate Minnie Ears headband without the lengthy blow-dry time to keep my “beachy waves” after our day in port. Whatever you decide, there’s no walking the plank and everyone will feel included in the festivities!
Semi-Formal Night is also up to your comfort and not an enforced dress code. I like to wear a tropical sundress and my husband will update his typical tee or polo to a button-up casual shirt this evening.
There are
laundry services (either self-serve or you can have it done for you) and irons available on each deck if needed.
I hope this has you feeling prepared and even more excited for your adventure ahead, Julie! Please let us know if you have more questions before your fabulous vacation.
With a suitcase and a dream,
Amy
