Welcome to planDisney, Sonja!
I'm so sorry to hear about your niece. Last year, I broke my ribs shortly before a Walt Disney World trip. My first thought was, "Oh, no! I won't be able to ride
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind!" Thankfully, that attraction is so smooth I was able to ride it (numerous times!) and wax lyrical about it on the planDisney podcast. In fact, I was able to ride most of the rides at Walt Disney World during that trip. However, there were a few (e.g.
Space Mountain,
Expedition Everest,
Test Track, etc.) that I had to avoid because I felt like they would be too "jerky."
Although your niece has a different injury, it seems like most of the attractions would be ok for her to ride. However, when it comes to the more thrilling rides, it probably depends on her comfort level. You'll also want to be careful when it comes to rides that involve getting wet (e.g.
Kali River Rapids). I would definitely seek advice from her doctor. I might even connect with the
Disability Service Cast Members and get their input.
I hope that's helpful, Sonja. Despite your niece's injury, I trust you'll all have a truly wonderful time at The Most Magical Place on Earth. Thanks for stopping by planDisney. See ya real soon!
Mike
