Hello to my fellow resident of Pennsylvania! Rebecca, I’m glad you came to planDisney! It sounds like you’re giving some thought to attending
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! As a fan of Magic Kingdom Park, Halloween, and the Walt Disney World Resort, I say, “GO FOR IT!”
The special Halloween-themed activities that are advertised for the party are specific to the party itself. Events such as Mickey’s Boo-to-You Parade, Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular fireworks show, the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular, and trick-or-treating through the park only occur during the party! These special shows and activities are not available for day Guests.
Rebecca, if you decide to attend Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, be sure to take advantage of the early arrival time! Guests with tickets for the party are allowed to enter Magic Kingdom Park as early as 4:00 PM even though the party doesn’t begin until 7:00 PM! You can use those extra hours to start experiencing the rides and other attractions! The day Guests will begin to leave the park around 7:00 PM and then the Halloween festivities begin! Also, if you arrive at 4:00 PM and stay through midnight, you will get to experience a full day of
Magic Kingdom Park! You wouldn’t need to schedule another visit to the park during your vacation (unless you wanted to, of course)!
As far as costumes go, the choice is yours! You can still trick-or-treat through the park even if you are not in costume. My family has done the Halloween Party in full costume, minimal costumes, and no costumes! We’ve had so much fun every time! Our full costumes were as characters from Pirates of the Caribbean! Our minimal costumes were Donald, Daisy, Huey, Dewey, and Louie!
Rebecca, here is a PRO TIP for you! A few minutes prior to the official start of Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade, the Headless Horseman makes his “terrifying” ride along the parade route! This is my favorite part of the entire Halloween Party!
Come on back to planDisney if you have any additional questions!
Happy Planning and Happy Halloween!
