Our next trip will consist of our newest addition to the family. Our son will be about seven months and we couldn’t be more excited! How exactly does the rider/parent swap work? Does group 2 have to wait in the fast pass line?

    Hello Tayo!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am so excited to hear that you will soon be visiting with your baby! Congratulations on the newest member of your family, and I just love that you will bring him to make memories at the Walt Disney World Resort – make sure to purchase Memory Maker to capture all the magical moments of his very first visit!

Rider Switch is a great service that allows Guests to take turns watching little ones who still cannot ride. To request Rider Switch simply approach Cast Members at the entrance of participating attractions. Please note that all members of your party must be present, even those who will be returning later with the pass. When you request to use Rider Switch the Guests in the second group to ride are assigned a digital pass that will be linked to their MagicBands or theme park admission cards. They will have a one-hour return window to use their pass, and this window starts after the same standby wait time minus ten minutes. For example, if at the time you request Rider Switch the standby wait is 40 minutes, the one-hour return window will start after 30 minutes. The second group will wait for the first group outside the attraction, and they will use the FastPass+ return entrance later to redeem their Rider Switch pass.

I hope this helps you while planning, Tayo! Don’t forget to stop by the Baby Care Centers located at all theme parks.

    Best magical wishes,
